Engine Warranty & Maintenance Policy - Boosted Engineering

1. Servicing Requirements

  • Engines must be serviced at the following intervals:
    • 1,000km (initial oil inspection and service)
    • 7,000km
    • 15,000km
  • Servicing must be carried out by a qualified mechanic or workshop
  • Full service records and invoices must be retained and provided upon request
  • Engine oil level must be checked regularly and maintained at the correct level at all times
  • Operation of the engine with insufficient oil level may result in severe damage and is not covered under warranty

Initial Oil Inspection Requirement (1,000km):

  • An oil change and inspection must be completed at 1,000km after first start
  • This must be carried out by Boosted Engineering, or by a reputable oil analysis provider (such as Penrite or equivalent)
  • Documentation of this inspection must be retained

Failure to complete required servicing at the specified intervals may result in denial of warranty claims

2. Oil Requirements

  • 5W-30 engine oil is recommended for most applications
  • Oil must be high quality and suitable for performance use
  • Engine oil level must be checked regularly and maintained at all times
  • Operation with low oil level may result in severe engine damage
  • Failures caused by insufficient oil level are not covered under warranty

Important:
Oil requirements may vary depending on engine build, tolerances, and intended use

Customers are required to confirm the correct oil specification with Boosted Engineering for their specific engine

  • Use of incorrect oil (including lower viscosity oils such as 0W-20 unless explicitly approved) may result in:
    • Reduced oil pressure
    • Premature wear
    • Engine failure

Failures resulting from incorrect oil selection are not covered under warranty

2A. Break-In Requirements

  • Engines must be run in appropriately during the initial break-in period
  • During this period, avoid:
    • High RPM
    • Full throttle
    • Heavy engine load
  • Failure resulting from improper break-in may affect warranty eligibility

3. Cooling System & Fluids

  • Cooling system must be maintained in proper working condition
  • Coolant must be at correct levels and free from contamination
  • Engines must not be operated while overheating
  • Any instance of engine overheating must be addressed immediately and the vehicle must not be driven until the issue is resolved

4. Installation Requirements

  • Engines must be installed by a qualified professional
  • All supporting systems must be in proper working condition, including:
    • Fuel system
    • Cooling system
    • Intake and exhaust systems
  • All supporting components must be compatible and in proper working condition
  • Failures caused by faulty, incompatible, or poorly performing supporting components are not covered under warranty

5. Tuning Requirements (Standard Engines)

  • Standard (non-forged) engines must remain on a factory or Boosted Engineering supplied tune only
  • Aftermarket tuning or modifications are not permitted unless explicitly approved in writing by Boosted Engineering
  • Any unauthorised tuning or ECU modification will result in denial of warranty claims

6. Forged Engine & Performance Builds

  • Forged and high-performance engine builds may be tuned and modified
  • Tuning must be carried out by a Boosted Engineering approved tuner
  • All servicing intervals and maintenance requirements outlined in this policy must still be followed
  • These engines may require more frequent inspection and maintenance due to increased performance demands
  • Failures resulting from unsafe tuning, poor calibration, or use outside intended limits are not covered under warranty

7. Usage Conditions

  • Standard (non-forged) engines are intended for normal road use only
  • These engines must not be used for race track driving, competition use, or sustained high-performance driving
  • Damage caused by:
    • Abuse
    • Over-revving
    • Detonation
    • Track use
    • Sustained high load or aggressive driving
      is not covered under warranty

8. Inspection Process

  • No disassembly is to be carried out without prior approval from Boosted Engineering
  • In the event of an issue:
    • Customer must contact Boosted Engineering first
    • We will advise on the correct inspection and diagnostic process
  • Boosted Engineering reserves the right to request:
    • ECU data logs
    • Diagnostic reports
    • Photos or videos
to assist in assessing warranty claims
  • Third-party assessments may be considered but are not binding

Failure to follow this process may affect warranty eligibility

8A. Transport & Associated Costs

  • Warranty does not cover costs associated with:
    • Transport
    • Removal
    • Reinstallation
  • These costs remain the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise agreed in writing

9. Warranty Coverage

  • Warranty period is 12 months or 15,000km (whichever comes first)
  • Warranty commencement date is defined as:
    • The date of installation where the engine is installed by Boosted Engineering, or
    • The date the engine is dispatched from our workshop where installation is carried out externally
  • Once either the time or kilometre limit is reached, warranty eligibility ceases
  • Warranty is only valid where all servicing requirements and intervals have been met and documented
  • Warranty applies to manufacturing or assembly defects only
  • All claims are assessed based on:
    • Service history
    • Oil specification used
    • Installation and usage conditions

10. Race Engine Products

  • High-performance race engines (including but not limited to 1000hp engine packages) are not subject to standard warranty terms
  • These engines are designed for extreme use and require frequent inspection, maintenance, and rebuild intervals
  • Warranty or support for these products is provided on a case-by-case basis only

11. General Disclaimer

Boosted Engineering engines are high-performance products and require proper maintenance and operation

  • Rebuilt engines may utilise a combination of new and reconditioned components, and may not exhibit identical characteristics to brand new engines

Failure to follow this policy may result in denial of warranty claims
