La serie G de Garrett utiliza una rueda de compresor forjada y totalmente mecanizada y una rueda de turbina de aleación Mar-M con una potencia nominal de 1055 °C, que funcionan con una sección central de doble rodamiento de bolas refrigerada tanto por aceite como por agua. El resultado es una rápida subida de revoluciones, un potente caudal en altas y la durabilidad por la que Garrett es conocida.
